Latrobe Health now covers radiology and pathology costs in private hospitals.
We take care of the little things.
As of 1 August 2024, Latrobe Health entered into a Medical Provider Purchaser Agreement (MPPA) for radiology and pathology services in all Australian private hospitals.
What does that mean?
We’re glad you asked! If you or anyone covered on your membership is admitted and treated in a private hospital within Australia, any pathology or radiology services you receive as part of your treatment, will be covered by Latrobe Health. You won't have to pay out-of-pocket for these services anymore.
Why has there been a change?
In 2023, claiming data from all policies held told us our members faced nearly $3 million in out-of-pocket expenses for pathology and radiology services. As a member-owned fund, we’re committed to finding ways to give more back to our members. Covering these costs is one way we can make healthcare more affordable for you.
Is there anything I need to do?
There's nothing extra you need to do. Just provide your membership number when filling out your admission forms, and we’ll take care of the rest.
Before you go to hospital, we recommend giving us a call to discuss your surgery and any questions you might have about your coverage. We’re here to help ensure you have the best possible experience.
At Latrobe Health, we’re always working to make healthcare simpler and more affordable for our members.
