Why we’ve launched the Small Grants Program

Latrobe Health has a longstanding history of being active in health and community outcomes. Challenges with accessibility, equity and affordability of health service provision across rural and regional locations are well known, long standing, and are only becoming more prevalent. Significant amounts of research observe that health outcomes of rural and regional Australians are poorer when compared to metropolitan locations.

As a regionally based health insurer, we see these trends impacting our rural and regional membership base each and every day. It is this that has led to the Latrobe Health Small Grants Program.

Pillars of health

Our focus is on the following health pillars, and we invite applicants to apply for grants that demonstrate impact across one or more of these pillars.

Literacy of health care

Understanding health information and services to make informed decisions about your health.

Accessibility of health care

Ensuring everyone can easily reach and use health services when needed.

Equity of health care

Providing fair and just health services to all, regardless of background or circumstances.

Affordability of health care

Making sure health services are financially manageable for everyone.
