The Latrobe Health Services Foundation exists to deliver better health outcomes for more Australians, especially those in rural and regional areas. We’re making this happen by championing health initiatives where they are most needed.

Latrobe Health Services has always been about strong community spirit. Backed by their financial commitment, the foundation is funding local programs that can deliver meaningful positive impact on the health of our community – for both members and non-members alike. In providing greater accessibility, equity and affordability of health services in regional and rural areas, we’re putting Latrobe spirit in action.

Pillars of health

Our focus is on the following health pillars, and we invite applicants to apply for grants that are aligned with these pillars.

Literacy of health care

Understanding health information and services to make informed decisions about your health.

Accessibility of health care

Ensuring everyone can easily reach and use health services when needed.

Equity of health care

Providing fair and just health services to all, regardless of background or circumstances.

Affordability of health care

Making sure health services are financially manageable for everyone.

Improving rural mental health and wellbeing with Phoenix Australia

The Latrobe Health Services Foundation is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Phoenix Australia, the National Centre of Excellence in Posttraumatic Mental Health. The partnership will develop and test an innovative mobile phone app, designed specifically to improve the mental health and wellbeing of rural and regional communities - where access to support can often be limited - and explore how cutting-edge digital tools can transform health outcomes.

To ensure that the mobile phone app reflects with the needs of Australian rural and regional communities, people from rural and regional communities will be involved with the co-design of the app. Over the next three years, Phoenix Australia will be carrying out research, through a randomised controlled trial, to test the effectiveness of the app.

Small Grants

Through the financial support of Latrobe Health Services, we’re currently funding small grants to support community-focused health initiatives across regional and rural Australia.

The Latrobe Health Small Grants Program will open periodically throughout the year, providing ongoing opportunities for community initiatives to apply for funding.
