Where it all began
- An initial trial of 500 health checks was completed in June 2022 as part of the Gippsland Healthy Hearts Study – this was in partnership with SiSU Health, Wesfarmers Health and Novartis.
- The findings of the Gippsland Healthy Hearts Study were published in the Australian Journal of Rural Health.
- Throughout the study, pharmacists observing a 38-year-old man in Sale Victoria decided to call an ambulance, this man was taken to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne to undergo lifesaving surgery.
- Among the findings of the study – 85.8% of participants had one or more cardiovascular disease risk factors, so we kept going and delivered an additional 2,500 health checks in regional and rural communities through local field day events and shopping centres from 2023 until now.
- Joined forces with the Shane Warne Legacy from November 2023 to perform over 160,000 free Shane Warne Legacy Health Checks at major events like the Boxing Day Test and AFL Gather Round, and in Priceline Pharmacies.
